Introducing the Newest Members of our Family

This adorable guy's name is Wrigley. He is an eight month old Golden Retriever puppy who came to us five weeks ago. We had been contemplating getting a dog for quite some time now but were unable to decide on a breed. Each breed we looked at seemed to have some strike against it: not suited for our climate, too expensive/rare, not good with very young children... I finally decided that a Golden Retriever is what we needed with three energetic boys. Not 24 hours later an email entered my husband's inbox from a family who owned this precious guy but was no longer able to care for him. They were looking to give him away to a loving family for free, and they agreed to allow us a two week trial to be certain we were ready for the added responsibility and that he would indeed be a good fit for our family. Well the two weeks passed and we couldn't imagine giving him back. He is a complete joy and a wonderful addition to our crew!

Here is the second new addition to our family. We are expecting Baby #4 to make his/her arrival sometime around the end of March!!! I am now 12 weeks and feeling the full effects of first trimester exhaustion and sickness (although the sickness hasn't been nearly as bad as in previous pregnancies). We should know at my next appointment whether we are to be adding pink to our home or more blue. Our guess is blue since dh's family has not seen a girl in six generations - yes you read that right... six generations!!!

Soon I will be back to homeschool topics after quite a break from anything homeschool related! I have almost completed my Teacher Notebook for this year and I need to post our first Weekly Report (to actually cover the first 6 weeks!).

Ohhhh he is gorgeous. The dog, not the baby. Because I think baby is a *she*. We will see; either way... 10 chubby fingers, 10 baby-curled toes... the smell of newborn head after a bath...

all beautiful blessings.

Wishing you a long, healthy and wonderful pregnancy.

I'm so happy the cat's out of the bag!

Love you!

Congratulations, Jennefer!! I am so excited for you. Wouldn't that be crazy if you were the first one to add a girl into his family? I know what you mean about just expecting the baby to be a boy, though. :)

Prayers for you that you will feel well throughout this pregnancy and give birth to a healthy baby!

Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you! I hope you get feeling better soon. I'll send happy pink thoughts your way, although I know all too well what it's like to have boys and more boys. :)

I love the dog too! That's the kind I want, but we'll probably wait until we move next year and hopefully get a bigger yard. We've sure missed having our dog around though. Boys need dogs I think.

What exciting news!

First, I'm glad that y'all weathered the hurricane just fine...as did we. Now, it's just getting back into the swing of things and hoping for normalcy. ;)

Secondly, congrats on your boy...Wrigley! How fun! He is indeed handsome!

Finally, wow! What a wonderful blessing. Congrats! I pray for your full 40 weeks. May they be uneventful and peaceful.

Congratulations! What a cute puppy! And don't doubt about having a girl. I have four boys and one girl. My sons had informed me that they had been secretly praying for a little sister and the Lord answered their prayer. :)

Congratulations! I recently found out that we are expecting our third. This is to say the least an unexpected blessing from the Lord, as there will be 7 years between my youngest and the new baby! Our excitement is growing.

Six generations?? Wow! Both from a logistical sense and from knowing that far back -- great job keeping family heritage!

Wrigley will surely keep your energetic boys (& girls?) happy!

Congrats!!! I always look at each pregnancy as 50/50, no matter the history. You never know! Either way, what a joy!
